Introduction:– Gandakula is a coastal region and also called as a village, situated near Devi river in Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha, India. But, it isn’t a village officially. It is divided into 2 medium villages named “Sunadhar” & “Bairakha” officially. But, These two villages are mostly called & Known as “Gandakula”. Unity among two villages is incredible. Un-officially they work together. Their Temple, Festival,Fair Programme, Village development programme, Sports programme etc are One. There is a premier youth organisation “Maa Kochilai Youth Club (MKYC)” is situated, which take a great character in ‘unity among 2villages’ & introduces itself as a club of “Gandakula”.

According to folklore, Gandakula was a grand village, many years ago. It was situated in where some small islands have appeared in Devi river now. According to old reports, when a severe flood came in Devi, then the village area came under water & destroyed.
Then, the villagers left that place(Old Gandakula) & came to a suitable place (Present Gandakula), which was a big forest area & cajole. They chose this place as their permanent living place by clean this environment.

Sunadhar is a medium size village located in Balikuda of Jagatsinghapur district, Odisha with total 139 families residing. The Sunadhar village has population of 614 of which 320 are males while 294 are females as per Population Census 2011.
